Happy Birthday Ken!

We went to the Tanuvasa’s for Sunday dinner after General Conference to celebrate Ken’s 17th birthday. Mike and Tamara always make the best food! We love going over there for dinner. We were kind of celebrating Ken’s birthday kind of late considering is was on Sept 29th but we still sang and had chocolate cake. Happy Birthday Ken!

Isn't Ken a good lookin' kid! He is a senior at SRHS and is on the varsity football team. I wouldn’t want to be tackled by him! Watch out!

The Oregon Coast

My Mom and sister, Cindy, came into Portland last weekend and we decide to go to the Coast and have a girls weekend with Tyler. My sister has just had surgery and come to Portland for a little R&R. We rented a great little beach house that was located right across from the ocean. I think we got our fill of chick flicks, the ocean, fried fish, and shopping. Tyler tried to get in some football when we leave the room but some how our chick flick always returned. They have an outlet mall there and so we listened to Christmas music in the car and then went Christmas shopping at the outlet. We each got an early start on our Christmas shopping and found some great finds. We went to a couple of light house and watched the sunset over the ocean. It was a great weekend, the only down fall was that it was a bit windy. Sunny, but winding. The pictures below are us trying to stay warm on the beach. The Oregon coast is beautiful but usually a bit cold.

Thanks Mom and Cindy for coming and seeing us! Miss you guys. We are counting down the days until we come to SLC for the Holiday’s.

Christmas Sister Strikes Again!

I came home from the coast a couple weeks ago (I know I have been neglecting my blog once again) and what do I see? I cute little wrapped Christmas gift from Karli. She is so thoughtful. I knows I love Christmas and she saw this cute little snowman snow glob and bought it for me. I love Christmas!

Happy Birthday to Tyler . . . again

So I wanted to have a get together with friends for Tyler's birthday but Tyler isn't too into birthdays so we didn't do much on his actual birthday. I felt guilty all week that we didn't do much so I called a few friends the next weekend and we all got together at the Cheesecake Factory to wish Ty a happy 29th! When they came out to sing him Happy Birthday he was all embarrassed. He was so cute!
This isn't a very good picture. You can't even really see Ty and you can't see everyone there. Mike and Tamara were sitting with me when I took the picture so you can't see them. I wish I could have gotten a better picture. Thanks to everyone for making Ty's birthday so great!

On the left is Tyler, Rendall, Kerry, and Steve. On the right is Michelle, Katie, Cassidy, and Tyler.

Girls Night Out!

So I have been slacking again on my blog and will be posting a few posts at the same time. Anyway I am trying to do better.

A group of ladies from my ward got together and bought group seasonal tickets for the Portland Broadway Shows. We went to our first play a few weeks ago, Fiddler on the Roof. It was really fun. I have seen bits and piece of the play but never the full thing. This tour also happened to be Chaim Topol farewell tour. Chaim is the main actor who played Tevye and performed on Broadway in NY and starred in the movie. He did an excellent job. I haven't been to a Broadway play in years so it was fun to go again especially with all the girls. I can't wait to go to the next one! For the rest of the week I was walking around singing the if I were a rich man . . . and the match maker, match maker. I couldn't get the songs out of my head. I am sure I was driving Tyler crazy!
I am excited for the rest of the plays. I only wish Wicked was part of the tour this year, oh well maybe next year.

Merry Christmas . . . . in August??

So yesterday I stepped out my front door and low and behold I found this on my doorstep

My very sweet friend, Karli, left me my first Christmas gift of 2009. Her tag says it's from "who else? Your Christmas Sister. Couldn't resist. . . got one for me too!" She is so cute! We both love Christmas! Right now as I am writing this post I am watching Fred Claus and listen to Christmas music. This was such a nice surprise and I love my gift. Thanks a bunch Karli!!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

So Ty's birthday was on the 25th. I am so sad that I don't have a picture but my camera was getting repaired and I just got it back. Anyway, we had a fun time. Ty doesn't like to do much for his birthday and I don't know why. Every year I want to through a party and have a BBQ at our house and every year Ty says let's go to dinner and a movie, which is one of his favorite things to do. Anyway, we went to lunch and had dinner with some friends last week end. Didn't go to a movie, nothing was playing we wanted to see. I finally broke down and got Ty an i phone for his present. I think he is in heaven. He loves tech gadgets. He's been singing the "I love technology" song from Napoleon Dynamite while holding his phone. He's so funny. Anyway, he loves it. He is always looking for new apps and finding more "cool" things that the phone can do. Last week we were laying in bed just about ready to turn the lights out and I asked if I can see his phone to check my email to see where we were meeting to go running in the morning (at 6 AM!). He hands me the phone gives me a big kiss and with a huge smile on his face he says it's that the coolest phone ever! He is so funny! Anyway, happy birthday, sweetheart! I love you!
