Leaving the House

So this week was the first week that we have really left the house with Rilynne. We went to Costco and that was interesting. I wanted to put her in her wrap but she wasn't having any of it. So I ended up putting her car seat in the cart. The problem was that I couldn't get any groceries into the cart. The checker was laughing at me because I was having such a hard time get everything on the belt and then getting everything back into the cart. I explained that this was my first time going out with her. That just made him laugh harder but he wished me luck. Rilynne was so good it was just hard and more time consuming then I thought it would be.

Isn't she beautiful?

The next night we went to Tyler's basketball game as SRHS. They lost the game, the played the #1 high school in the state and 19th in the country. We were sad that they lost but Rilynne was the hit of the game. Everyone was coming up to me saying how beautiful she was and how happy they were for us. Rilynne felt right at home in the gym so we are thinking Rilynne is well on her way of becoming a stellar athlete! :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Rilynne got dressed up for the holiday in her Valentine's Day outfit with a headband that I made for her. Doesn't she look cute? It's been a fun holiday - her grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins send her her first Valentine's Day card. Thanks you guys!

Rilynne's Nursery Decor

So this is Rilynne's nursery. My friends and I painted this wall a darker brown and I made the picture frames and my friend Tamara gave me the laminate lettering. I hung up the frames by myself and that is why they are not straight but I don't care, it doesn't look as bad in real life. I am just proud of myself that I could do something crafty and I thought it up all by myself.
The best part is I got everything for her nursery for under $20!!!

Going Out!

While Grandpa & Grandma Hollist were here we took one of our first ventures out of the house. We went to Olive Garden and had a nice dinner out. I was having a bit of cabin fever so it was nice to get out even if it was only an hour.
Auntie Lisa gave little Rilynne this cute outfit. She doesn't really like hats but she did pretty well and she looked super cute. Several people at Olive Garden said how cute she looked.

Hi Grandma & Grandpa Hollist

Grandpa and Grandma Hollist came to visit for a visit last week. It was the first time they had seen little Rilynne. They fell in love instantly! Rilynne won them over like she does to everyone.
They helped us out a lot. They even took the first shift at night so we could get 5-6 hours of sleep. Rilynne was a sweet angel for her grandparents but the day they leave she started to get more fussy and hasn't taken a good afternoon nap since. Hopefully, we can get into a better routine soon! Thanks Pen and Julie for coming to see us!

First Home Visit

Well we had our first home visit for our adoption and I think it went pretty well. Rilynne was so good, she slept most of the time. We dressed her up and put a cute yellow bow in her hair. I think with time Rilynne gets cuter and cuter. In Oregon you need to have 2 in home visits and then have the court go through and approve the paperwork for our adoption to be finalized. We have started the paperwork and have one more home visit and we can finalize and have her sealed to us.

We got our new insurance cards in the mail this week and it was so fun to see her name in print next to ours. We are so happy she has joined our family. We love her more everyday!

A lot of her pics are in this soother because she loves it! I am hoping she will start to love her swing just as much :)

Playing Dress Up

So before my Mom and Dad left we wanted to see how Rilynne would look with some headbands/bows in her beautiful hair. I think she looks pretty darn cute!
