Girls Lunch

So I am coming to SLC for Christmas this year so Brooke Rodebrack (Carr) and I decide that we are going to do lunch on December 19th. I am putting an open invitation to whom ever would like to come. I missed out high school reunion so it I thought it would be fun together with anyone who had time. I know the Holiday's are busy but anyone how has time I love to see them! Over View of November

So I am so bad at posing on my blog. I can never seem to find the time to write anything. I don't know how most of you do it and I don't even have kids yet. This November was full of good and sad events. Sad events are very fun to write about so I will post only the good ones!

We spent Thanksgiving with our friends the Tanuvasa's and we had a FEED! They had over 5 different kinds of meat! There was so much food somethings didn't even get touched. Later that night the ladies had craft night. Tamara owns a vinyl lettering company and so she went can cut 4-5 laundry bins of wood and we painted a bunch of blocks and stuck scrape paper and vinyl lettering on them. The picture below is the ones I completed. I am pretty proud of my frame, it matches my living room exactly. I am not craft so I need a lot of help from Tamara, Season, Stephanie, and Emily.

A couple of weeks ago Ty and I wend to Medford, OR for a UPS trip. It just happened that the high school that our ward goes to was playing in state football down there. It seemed like most of our friends made the 5 hour trek to watch the game. They did so good. When we first got there at the end of the first quarter they were down by a touchdown. In the second quarter they started to come together as a team and ended up winning by over 20 points.

I got to see Stacy when the BYU Women's Basketball team traveled to Portland to play PSU. Tyler and I were torn, as to who to cheer for, I graduated from BYU and he graduated from PSU. I will always bleed blue so I cheered for my cougars! The refs were very good so I had to yell at them too. PSU played their hearts out and won by 9 points, I have never seen them play that well, EVER! It sucks that BYU played them on the night that they played the best they ever played. Oh well, it was great to see Stacy. I haven't seen her since my wedding 5 years ago! Hopefully we will be able to get together again when I come down for Christmas.

These beautiful ladies are my lucky co-workers at Nike! A couple of months ago we started taking a Friday off work every month and have a girls lunch. We usually go to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and then go shopping at Bridgeport. These ladies are awesome and so funny! We get to laugh, complain about work, and eat whatever we want to ! I love these ladies! I am sad that I will miss December's lunch, we are planning a weekend trip to Seattle! I'll be there for sure in January!

Our Oregon Family!

We moved to Oregon over 4 years ago and at first I wasn't sure I was going to make it. I really missed my Mom & Dad . . . and the sun. Looking back on the last 4 years we have met some amazing people. One of our most favorite families is the Tanuvasa's. If fact we feel that the Tanuvasa's are part our family. They have alwasys been there for us. They are some of the most giving and loving people I know. They are always doing something for someone. They currently have 3 young boys of their own and have taken on 3 great nephews. We just love their family! We love going to their sporting events. Ty gets so into it. We usually go to all the games. home and away.




Here is a picture of the last high shcool game for Ken and Matt. They have been fun to watch. Matt has really been getting some good playing time and just scored his first touchdown of the year. Unfortunantly, Ken has suffered from some injuries that has prohibited him from playing. Hopefully, he'll be able to stay health next year.

Here is a couple of pics of Pepe's championship game. These games are fun to go to because there are 4 kids on the team from our ward and 3 girls our on the cheerleading team for their team so half the ward shows up to support them. Pepe's team did really well this year. They came in second this year with on 1 loss and it was close. Mike, Pepe's dad, coaches the team. Mike is intense but does a great job with these kids. They are one of the best in the league.

This is Mike giving out the medals to all his team. Mike is the one in the dark jacket. Pepe is number 10 and one of the star players. He usually scores half their touchdowns per game.

This is me and Tamara at Pepe's championship game. I love Tamara! She is always there for me. I love to go to lunch and a chic flick movies with her! We love to go to movies together that our husbands would never take us to.

These our their nephews, Ken (left with orange hat), Mason (red shirt) and Matt (orange shirt with sunglasses). Ty & I chaperoned the Halloween Stake Youth Dance. These are such great boys! Ty loves thems. Ty is their YM leader and he always has great stories of them after every mutual activity.

1. Balance a check book to the penny (I graduated in Finance so most of things I do well have to do with numbers).

I know, I know I have been neglecting my blog. Things have been busy lately. This fall has been full of football games, baking, and catching mice!
We have a very involved and supportive ward here. Most of the families go to the high school football games and the youth football games. It's been really fun to go watch football games every Friday and Saturday. Luckily, we have had a pretty nice weather so it's been fun to cheer and to socialize with people in our ward.
Now the mice story - Several weeks ago I had a horrible headache that kept me up all night. Finally at 4:30 AM I got up and creeped downstairs to get a little something to eat to I could take some headache medicine. I fumbled my way downstairs and turned on the kitchen light just in time to see a mouse run a cross my counter on down the back of my stove. Of course I screamed. I absolutely do not like mice but it startled me more than anthing. When Ty heard me scream he comes rumbling down the stairs to come protect his wife from the person that was attacking us, or so he thought. Needless to say he wasn't too happy that I had woken him up over a mouse. Tyler is not a morning person and loves his sleep. He was really sweet though, he sent me back to bed and made me a little something to eat and fed me in bed,
A week later Tyler was at the State Center playing ward basketball so I was home alone working upstairs when I hear this SNAP and a flapping sound. At first I though maybe Ty was trying to get in and his key wasn't working. I was too lazy to go downstairs to check the door so I called him on his cell phone. I asked him if he was home and having difficultly getting in. He said he was just leaving the Stake Center. When I heard that my heart started to pound like crazy. I try to sneak downstairs to see what the sound was. I'll admit I was totally scared. When I got down stairs I could actually hear the mouse. So I ran upstairs and called Ty again to tell him to come home ASAP because we had caught a mouse and it was still a live flopping around in the kitchen - gross! I wa so happy to have got one of mice but scared to look at it. Luckily Ty came home some to be the man and take care of it!
We are having some new construction going on right next to our house so we are figuring we will get a few more. I hope the construction is done soon!

Beautiful Oregon

So when the boys went up to Washington for their boys weekend, my Mom and I decided to go rent a condo on the coast. We found a really cute condo in Lincoln City that sits right on an inlet into the ocean. It was so nice to take in the scenery and to relax with my Mom. We went shopping at the outlets, relaxed and read on the deck, ate at our favorite fish restaurant there, saw tide pools, went to the OSU science center (never been there before but I have to say it was better than the aquarium), and watched movies.

So Rise and Shout, the Cougars Are Out!!

BYU Football played Washington Huskies this past weekend in Washington. A few years ago the men in my family started their annual "boys weekend" where they pick a sporting event to go to with all the boys. This is a time that they can be as loud and obnoxious at the game as they want to without their wife's elbowing them to be quiet and sit down. They also are able to eat whatever they want - triple decker ice creams for Mike, dessert and chips for Tyler, etc. This year was Ty's first time being able to attend due to basketball and work. He really loved it. For people that don't know, my family are HUGE BYU fans, almost to the extreme. We had a "BYU prayer rug" growing up (which was really a door mat) that we knelt on for family prayers, my Dad threw his back out celebrating a after a last minute made shot by to win a game, and I think there are several refs that can be blamed for an ulcer my Dad had. I know it may be extreme but we have had a lot of fun with it.

Anyway, each trip they come away with one line that makes the trip memorable. This year was no different. BYU was able to win by 1 point last Saturday to defeat Washington. With 2 seconds left BYU blocked Washington's kick. As you could guess, my family was going crazy! Mike actually jumped up several rows of bleachers, doing the splits, holding up arms to encourage the crowd to cheer. When he got down, Ty was starring at Mike asking how he got up there so fast. Mike's responded nonchalantly - "Yeah, I'm pretty agile for a fat guy." Classic Mike. It doesn't sound as funny as it was. Tyler does a great reenactment that has me crying with laughter.

For 2 days after, all I heard about was Mike and a second by second replay of every bad call the ref made by my Dad.
