. . . . Spring, where did you go?

So Saturday I was singing to Rilynne "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" and tonight I will sing "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow". Portland was having sunshine and 60-65 degree weather all week and now it is snowing!! When is Spring coming? I don't think I can take the rain anymore and it's been a mild winter. I am tired of bundling up and getting wet anytime I step out of my front door. I am dreaming of sunglasses, shorts, flip flops, laying out and taking naps in the sun. I am on the count down to summer! Hopefully it's not too far away.

The Joy of Sleeping

Rilynne is a true Hollist because is always hungry and she can sleep anywhere at anytime. She loves to sleep in her car seat and soother. Her favorite position is with her hands up above her head in the "touch down" position. Ty like to call it her "touch down Jesus" position after the Notre Dame football stadium statue. She also make some pretty cute faces while she is resting. Her most frequent is the one sided smile and puckered lips. She is so darn cute and growing fast! I wish she would stay my little baby forever!

She looks a bit grumpy but I think it is because I put a headband on. I am not sure how much she likes them.

Touch down!

This one her right hand is straight up in the air and the other hand is just resting above her head. I am not sure how she could sleep and hold her arm up but she did for like 20 minutes. The joys of sleeping I guess.

Smiling

Rilynne is beginning to smile a lot. These pics aren't the best. My camera has a bit of a delay so I couldn't get her in a full smile. I love it when I am feeding her and she stops sucking on her bottle to smile up at me or when I go and check on her in her crib and she is awake just playing and she sees me and she breaks into a huge smile and starts kicking her legs. I love it that she is just as excited to see me as I am to see her. It just makes my heart melt. She is the very best thing that has ever happened to our family. Words can't express the joy I feel in my heart every time I see her or hear her (yes, even when she is crying), it's proof that she is really there and I am not just dreaming. We have waited for so long for her and it is a dream come true that she is here. Ty and I catch ourselves just staring at her. We forget what we are doing and just stare. She is so beautiful and perfect in every way. We can't wait to take to the temple and have her sealed to us! We love you Rilynne!!

Happy girl!

Rilynne is beginning to smile and to enjoy being independent. She has just finished with her phase of wanting to be held waking moment to enjoying laying on the floor, swinging in her swing and riding in her stroller. I miss cuddling with her but glad that she is enjoying new things. She loves looking out the window at everything going on. This last week Portland has had some nice spring weather and she likes to lay on the floor in the sunshine. She doesn't like the sun in her eyes but she like to stretch out in sun without a blanket wrapped around her. I think she is as excited for spring/summer as I am!

Congrats Thao and Jason!

Last week Rilynne and I went to Nike to our friend's Thao and Jason's baby shower. We are so excited for them and so excited to meet Rilynne's new friend Melia (I hope I spelled that right) next month. Thao and Jason live just up the hill from us so we are planning on some fun play dates in the future. We are so excited to meet sweet Melia.
It was really good to see everyone again. Everyone LOVED Rilynne! Most of my co-workers know our struggles with fertility and were so happy for us when they found out about our adoption of Rilynne. People couldn't wait to see her. Below is a picture of Rilynne and my friend Michelle. Auntie M is in love with Rilynne and as you can see she is in love with her auntie!

Dinner with Friends

On Sunday we went to the Tanuvasa's for dinner and Rilynne was the center of attention. They all crowded around her smiling and cooing at her. If you look close you can see her smiling. Tai and Pepe had the magic touch, she fell a sleep in their arms. Tai just loves Rilynne. He sat by her watching her most of the night.
Tamara was telling me how she was taking some of Madden's baby toys to Goodwill and Tai was so upset he told Tamara that they couldn't give away these toys because he was saving them for Rilynne. It's good to know that Tai has Rilynne's back in the toy department.

Pretty in Spring Colors

I am so excited for Spring and for the sunshine. Portland has had a pretty mild winter and the sun has shone more this year then past winters I can remember. So for church this Sunday I dressed Rilynne is this cute spring dress. Thanks to all her aunties that have given her all their baby clothes.
This Sunday she was still really good, although she had a bit of a fit during sacrament meeting and I had to take her out. I went to the mother's room to feed her and she calmed right down, although once the milk ran out she started to scream again. She woke up all the other babies in the mother's room. I felt so bad! All the babies woke up and started to cry! All because Rilynne. She only cried for about 2 minutes and then went to sleep herself and left all the other babies awake and crying . . . oops. Other than that she was a complete angel and slept the last 2 hours. I even let people hold her, which is a big step for me. I am a little protective of her and I want to hold all the time. She's my little girl and she is growing so fast. I don't want to miss anything. She makes me just so happy. I love you, Rilynne!
